The purpose of the study was to examine and compare dynamics of the lower limbs between forefoot (FF) and rearfoot (RF) strike patterns during unplanned sidestepping.
Movement patterns of sixteen elite female hockey players were recorded with the use of a 12 camera Vicon MX system.
Each participant performed a series of planned and unplanned straight line and change of direction running tasks.
Based on the natural foot strike patterns, participants were classified into two strike groups - a) habitual rearfoot (RF) b) habitual forefoot (FF).
